The City of Jersey City is searching for an experienced Assistant Director of Finance. (ADF)
This Assistant Director of Finance assists the Finance Director with leading and overseeing all financial activities within the Finance Department. The Assistant Director will supervise staff that performs professional and technical level finance program work. In addition to leading and supervising, the ADF will be responsible for completing projects and performing responsibilities.
The Department of Finance is comprised of five divisions: Collections, Treasury, Comptroller Office, Office of Management and Budget, and Purchasing. This position is an exceptional opportunity for a systems-level thinker and a collaborative leader with a strong background in managing and directing staff, operations, and service levels. The ideal candidate will be organized, have a clear understanding of revenues and expenditures, a ‘roll up their sleeves mentality to provide leadership and clear direction to the Finance Department and possess outstanding analytical skills, knowledge of financial management and administration principles and practices, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, Government Accounting Standards Board, Generally Accepted Auditing Standards, and OBOA while providing guidance and business solutions in a clear manner to all levels of audience.
