The Pima County Department of Finance and Risk Management is looking for a skilled, motivated professional leader to join their Financial control & Reporting Division. This supervisory position is responsible for working closely with a team of accountants to compile, issue and review accurate and timely interim and year-end financial reports and note disclosures according to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for inclusion in the County's Annual Comprehensive Financial Report. duties include developing staff, working with external auditors, assessing current practices/procedures, proposing recommendations for improvements, performing ad-hoc analysis and projects, an extensive understanding of accounting principles and standards, laws and regulations, excellent analytical skills, attention to detail/accuracy, ability to prioritize work and strong planning and organizational skills.
