Job Description

Nature of Work:

Under general supervision the Finance Director is responsible for maintaining and reporting the financial resources of the City, preparing financial information as needed and preparation of the annual Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) and annual budget.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree in Accounting, Finance, Public Administration, or closely related field. A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license can be substituted for a Masters Degree.
  • At least five years experience working in a public finance position, with minimum three years of supervisory experience required.
  • Must have working knowledge of GAAP and Kansas Municipal budget and finance laws.
  • Any satisfactory equivalent combination of experience, education and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities listed above will be considered.
