Celebrating 120 Years of GFOA

Celebrating 120 Years of GFOA

In 2026, GFOA marks an extraordinary milestone: 120 years of service to public finance professionals and the communities they support. This anniversary is more than a measure of longevity. It is a moment to reflect on how GFOA has evolved to meet the changing needs of governments and professionals, while staying grounded in its mission of advancing excellence in government finance.

Throughout the year, we’ll share moments from our history, highlight member experiences, and spotlight the ideas and innovations shaping our work today.

This celebration also looks forward. As governments face increasingly complex challenges, GFOA enters its 120th year committed to supporting the next generation of public finance professionals, strengthening partnerships, and helping communities thrive.
