Alfredo Riverol

Since becoming chief financial officer for the City of South Miami in 2010, Alfredo Riverol has worked to improve fiscal management, public trust, and financial transparency. Under his guidance, the City reduced its millage rate to an all-time low, enhanced financial reporting practices, and earned GFOA’s Triple Crown Award for six consecutive years. He played a central role in stabilizing the City’s pension systems and oversaw the development of widely recognized financial reports. A CPA with multiple professional credentials, Alfredo shares his insights as an adjunct professor at Florida International University and speaks regularly at national conferences. He also serves on the AICPA Government Performance and Accountability Committee.
