Anna Dolewski

Anna Dolewski has been supporting Costa Mesa’s finance team since 1989. In her current role overseeing payroll, she plays a key part in making sure payroll runs smoothly, labor contracts are followed, and the City stays in compliance across more than ten bargaining units. She contributed to automation efforts that streamlined payroll operations, reduced errors, and strengthened internal controls. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she helped set up electronic time tracking, supported reimbursement processes for federal leave, and assisted in responding to IRS inquiries. Anna works with Human Resources and IT to ensure payroll systems reflect up-to-date labor agreements and policies. She also helps orient new employees and meets with retiring staff to explain payroll matters. Her colleague Anna Acosta-Reyes praised, “Anna is an outstanding example of public service—she loves the work she does, and it shows every day.”
