Kevin Bain
Debt Manager, City of Detroit, MI

Kevin Bain serves as Debt Manager for the City of Detroit. A native of the Detroit area, Kevin received a dual BBA in International Finance and BA in Comparative Literature from the University of Michigan. He pursued an investment banking career in New York on Citigroup’s Debt Capital Markets desk, working on over $100 billion of bond transactions. Before returning to Detroit, he received his Master in Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government with a concentration in Economic Development and consulted with the World Bank on Climate Resilience and Municipal Finance projects. Kevin serves as a Vice-chair of the GFOA's committee on Capital Planning and Economic Development. He is the Chair of the City of Detroit’s LGBTQ+ and Friends Employee Resource Group.
