Zachary Beyer

Zachary Beyer is a licensed Certified Public Accountant with over 20 years of experience working with companies and organizations of all sizes, from small non-profits to multi-million dollar franchise operations. As City Controller for the City of Kansas City, Missouri, Zack and his team are responsible for monitoring and reporting on every dollar spent in the City’s $2.6 billion annual budget through overseeing the City’s financial audit and federal uniform guidance Single Audit, producing the City’s annual comprehensive financial report, providing payroll services to over 4,000 City employees, and managing the City’s accounts payable function. Prior to joining the City, Zack worked for H&R Block in a variety of leadership roles including retail operations management, contact center vendor management, and expat/international taxation. He has also volunteered with several nonprofit organizations in leadership roles, often as treasurer, leveraging his experience in accounting to promote community improvement. Throughout his career he has always prided himself on being a servant leader, finding ways to help the people around him grow, thrive, and achieve their very best. 

Originally from Rochester, New York, Zack graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration from The George Washington University in 2003, earned a Master of Science in Corporate and Organizational Communication degree from Northeastern University in 2010, and earned a Master of Science in Accounting degree from the University of Missouri, Kansas City in 2022. He currently lives in Kansas City with his partner Ty and their rambunctious cat Rose, where they love exploring all the great food and entertainment that KC has to oƯer.
