Bryan Heck
Bryan Heck has served as City Manager of Springfield, Ohio since 2019, overseeing 560+ employees, an annual general fund budget of over $60 million, and a city population of 60,000+ residents. He has dedicated almost 20 years to the City of Springfield, previously holding key positions including Deputy City Manager, Assistant to the City Manager, and Planning and Zoning Administrator.
Throughout his tenure, Heck has played an integral role in numerous urban planning and economic development initiatives. Notable projects include the Springfield Regional Medical Center, the transformation of the former International Lagonda Assembly Plant into Topre America Corporation, the South Limestone Corridor rezoning and redevelopment, the downtown parking garage, Center Street Townes, and several housing developments. He has also led efforts to improve the City’s internal and external communications strategy.
Heck is actively involved in professional and civic organizations. He is a member of the International City/County Management Association (ICMA) as a Credentialed Manager, incoming President of the Ohio City/County Management Association (OCMA), and serves on various internal and external boards and commissions. In the community, he has been an active member of the Springfield Rotary Club for seven years, a past board member and alumnus of Leadership Clark County, a board member for two years with the Gathering of the Miami Valley, and one of the newest board members for the Dayton Development Coalition.
Heck holds a Master of Public Administration from the University of Dayton (2008), where he also worked as a graduate assistant in the Political Science Department. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Wittenberg University in 2006, graduating summa cum laude.
