Chenese E. Strange

Chenese E. Strange, CPA, serves as the Controller for the City of Irving, where she oversees accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls. With more than 17 years of experience in government accounting, she is responsible for ensuring transparency, accuracy, and accountability in municipal financial operations.

Prior to joining the City of Irving, Chenese worked for the City of Fort Worth as a Financial Reporting Coordinator, where she gained extensive experience in financial reporting, audit compliance, and public-sector best practices.

Chenese holds a Master of Business Administration from Texas A&M University–Commerce and a Master of Accounting and Financial Management from Keller School of Management. She is licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Texas and is also a Certified Government Finance Officer through the Government Finance Officers of Texas. She is deeply committed to public service, servant leadership, and fiscal responsibility.

Outside of her professional role, Chenese is married to Michael Strange and is the proud mother of two energetic daughters, Micah and Michenzie—affectionately known as the “M&Ms.”
