Chris Moore
Chris Moore
Chris began serving the Springfield community in 1998 when he joined the city’s Engineering Department as a technician. After a series of progressively responsible positions, he was elevated to Service Director in 2011 where he provides leadership, oversight, and support to the 155 men and women who serve the citizens of Springfield through 12 divisions encompassing traditional public works, water and wastewater utilities, and internal services.
Overseeing a $30M operating budget and a myriad of capital projects, Moore has taken particular interest in navigating labor relations, regulatory compliance, and the financial complexities of both. Additionally, Moore fosters a culture where his team understands their role in the big picture of serving the organization and the community.
Moore represents Springfield with the local metropolitan planning organization, the Clark County Business Builders, and as a Leadership Clark County board member. Outside of these formal positions, Moore can often be found speaking to students about local government, employment skills, or guiding a field trip around one of Springfield many facilities.
Moore holds an Associate of Applied Science in Civil Engineering Technology from Clark State Community College, a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Urbana University, and a Master of Public Administration from Wright State University.
