Christina Jackson

Christina Jackson has served as Deputy County Executive and Chief Financial Officer for Fairfax County, Virginia since September 2021. In this role, Christina directly oversees the County’s operating and capital budgets, debt management, tax administration, financial and risk management operations, procurement and internal audit functions, and retirement administration. Prior to her appointment as CFO, Christina served as the director of the County’s Department of Management and Budget. Christina began her career in the private sector, working at Wachovia Asset Management before beginning with Fairfax County as a budget analyst in 2003.

At the County, Christina has been instrumental in a number of initiatives, including the development of the County’s first countywide strategic plan, an extensive Lines of Business Review, and a joint effort with the County’s school system to address capital funding challenges. She has worked closely with her human resources partners to build solutions to recruit, reward, and retain employees, which includes helping to develop the County’s current compensation plan as well as a multi-year strategy to strengthen the County’s pension funding.

She has a master’s degree in public affairs from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and a bachelor’s degree in public policy studies and political science from Duke University.

Christina is married and has two daughters, ages 7 and 9. She spends most of her free time cheering on her daughters in soccer and basketball and trying to keep track of their myriad of activities. She enjoys reading, baking, the occasional watercolor class, and cheering on her beloved Duke Blue Devils.
