David Erdman

David Erdman is a Managing Director at Baker Tilly Municipal Advisors, LLC.  David has 35 years of public finance experience with more than 30 years of experience at a major state-level issuer. David retired from the State of Wisconsin but as a municipal advisor still remains an active advocate and leader for municipalities in the municipal bond market. At the State of Wisconsin from 1991 to 2022, with the latter years serving as Capital Finance Director, David led a team responsible for the preparation, sale, issuance, disclosure and compliance of state obligations.  During his career, David had responsibilities for nearly 300 State of Wisconsin bond/notes issues in aggregate par amount of nearly $50 billion.  With this number of transactions, David sold, placed and issued various forms of obligations – bonds, commercial paper notes, auction rate certificates, variable rate demand obligations and floating rate notes, along with negotiating terms of swap agreements and termination of swaps. While at the State of Wisconsin, David played key role in the sale and issuance of obligations for the Fiserv Forum, Foxconn Development in the Village of Mount Pleasant and expansion of the Wisconsin Center District.  At Baker Tilly Municipal Advisors, David leads efforts of the firm with large issuers and is heavily involved with both internal and external initiatives relating to technology, borrowing initiatives, and municipal disclosure.  David is past chair of the State Debt Management Network (SDMN), past member of GFOA’s Committee on Governmental Debt Management, and current NAMA member. In his hometown of Stoughton, Wisconsin, David is Chair of the Utilities Committee, a volunteer Advanced Emergency Medical Technician, and a Chief Election Inspector
