Katie Eviston is the Commission‑appointed Finance Director for the City of Springfield, Ohio, overseeing both Finance and Information Technology. She stewards a $200m+ budget and leads a 50+ person team that supports every city service—from public safety to community development—through servant leadership, strategic collaboration, and a perspective that reaches far beyond the numbers.

A native of Harlan, Kentucky, Katie pairs small‑town roots with big‑picture vision. She has driven Springfield’s Oracle Cloud ERP rollout, launched modern utility‑billing and cashiering platforms, and introduced AI‑enabled analytics that streamline workflows and reinforce data‑driven decision‑making. Grounded in Lean principles, she empowers frontline employees to identify bottlenecks and co‑create solutions that deliver measurable public value well beyond go-live.

Since joining Springfield in 2015 as a Senior Accountant, Katie has advanced to Finance Director. She holds a BS in Accounting and an MBA from the University of the Cumberlands, serves on the board of Ohio Plan Risk Management, and remains active in GFOA, ICMA, OCMA, and Rotary. An advocate for public service and the government‑finance profession, she mentors emerging leaders, engages in statewide policy discussions, and enjoys speaking on innovation and strategic leadership in municipal finance.
