Katie Eviston

Katie Eviston serves as Finance Director for the City of Springfield, Ohio, where she oversees over $250M in annual appropriations and leads a multidisciplinary team spanning accounting, utility billing, income tax, revenue collection, purchasing, and information technology.

With more than a decade of experience in municipal finance, Katie’s work focuses on advancing long-term fiscal sustainability, strengthening organizational transparency, and modernizing government operations. She led the City’s implementation of Oracle Cloud, transforming financial systems and enhancing internal controls, reporting, and data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Katie is particularly engaged in addressing the structural challenges facing local governments today, including flat income tax growth, rising public safety costs, and evolving state and federal policy landscapes. Her approach emphasizes proactive forecasting, disciplined capital planning, and strong executive collaboration to maintain structural balance while continuing to invest in community priorities.

Beyond her role in Springfield, Katie contributes to the broader public finance profession as a member of the Board of Ohio Plan Risk Management and as a member of the Budget Subcommittee for the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) Executive Board. She is an active member of GFOA, Ohio GFOA, ICMA, and OCMA, and is a committed Rotarian supporting community service initiatives.
