Gina Plata Nino serves as the Director of Policy and Advocacy for SNAP at the Food Research & Action Center (FRAC), where she leads national strategies to protect and expand access to the largest federal anti-hunger program, SNAP. Previously, she was a Senior Policy Advisor at the White House Domestic Policy Council, where she helped lead cross agency implementation of the Biden–Harris Administration’s National Strategy on Hunger, Nutrition, and Health.

Gina began her career as a state and federal law clerk and later as a public services attorney representing low income families in SNAP, TANF, childcare, housing, and Medicaid cases. Throughout her career, she has built statewide coalitions, led access to benefits campaigns, and advised governments and nonprofits on equitable funding systems, food access strategies, and community driven policymaking.
