Matt Hastedt
Matt Hastedt serves as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for the City of Charlotte, where he leads the Finance Department. His responsibilities include oversight of Treasury, Financial Reporting, Financial Services, Revenue, Internal Controls and Systems, and Risk Management.
Matt is actively engaged in the broader government finance community. He joined the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) Treasury and Investment Management Committee in 2023 and was recognized as a member of the 2024 Bond Buyer Rising Star class.
In addition to his role as CFO, Matt serves as an ex-officio Board Member for the Charlotte Firefighters’ Retirement System and has been a member of its Investment Committee since March 2022.
Matt’s career with the City of Charlotte spans multiple leadership roles, including City Treasurer/Deputy Director, Debt Manager, Assistant Debt Manager, and Economic Research Analyst. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Roanoke College and a Master of Public Administration from James Madison University.
