Yuri Hattersley (they/them/theirs), MPA, oversees a Lean continuous improvement pilot program within the City of Bellevue, Washington’s Finance & Asset Management department. In addition to supporting process improvement efforts among various business lines and services offered by Finance & Asset Management, they support strategic planning, performance measurement, surveying and focus grouping, and diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging efforts. They came to Washington from Texas, where they studied sociology on the pre-law track as a Terry Scholar. In addition, Yuri is a delegate to the LocalGovernment2030 Initiative, which brought together 50 public servants under the age of 40 to explore solutions to the grand challenges facing the profession of local government.
