John Matelski

John Matelski is a senior information technology and cybersecurity executive with more than 30 years of experience across the public and private sectors. Since September 2025, he has served as Chief Information Officer for the National Association of Counties (NACo), leading enterprise technology strategy in support of counties nationwide. Previously, he was Executive Director of the Center for Digital Government (e.Republic) and spent 12 years as Chief Innovation and Information Officer for DeKalb County, Georgia, where he led enterprise digital transformation and helped earn Top 10 Digital County recognition for nine consecutive years. He holds a B.S. in Computer Science and an MBA in Computer Information Systems from Arizona State University and was named one of Government Technology’s Top 25 Doers, Dreamers, and Drivers in 2023.
