Malisa Files is currently the Finance Director of the City of Redmond, Washington. Her tenure at Redmond spans twenty-five years with seventeen of those years spent in the Financial Planning Office. During her time in Redmond, the City implemented a biennial budget as well as a budgeting for outcomes process for both the General Fund and the Capital Investment Program. Prior to coming to Redmond, Malisa served as a Principal Financial Analyst for the City of Pasadena, California. Malisa holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. Ms. Files is currently serving on the GFOA’s Budgeting and Fiscal Policy Committee.
