Melissa has more than 20 year’s experience in the public & private sector.  Before transitioning to municipal finance she supported numerous finance transformation projects in management consulting, taught Finance and Statistics courses at two San Antonio universities, and built analytical teams to support long-range planning initiatives. 

Melissa earned a BBA in Finance, and MBA; has served on non-profit boards, and currently serving on the board for GFOAT (TX).  She is an author of Follow Me to the Beach, a children’s book about her love for all things Jeep, a former marathon runner, a volunteer for veterans and individuals experiencing homelessness, a proud mom, wife, and enjoys spoiling her dogs.
