Peter McDevitt
City Council Budget Director, City of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Pete McDevitt started working at the City of Pittsburgh in 2015. He was hired as an Asset Management Analyst in the Office of Management and Budget, helping to establish strategies for funding and usage of City owned capital assets, and eventually transitioned to a Senior Budget Analyst working on the capital budget. Pete was hired as the Director of the City Council Budget Office in July of 2022, assisting the nine City Council members understand, amend, and adopt the City's annual Operating and Capital Budgets in addition to preparing legislation related to the budget and helping with all financial related decisions City Council makes.
Before the City of Pittsburgh, Pete spent four years working in various accounting roles at BNY Mellon. He earned a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting at California University of Pennsylvania and a Master's of Public Policy & Management at the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public & International Affairs.
