Ricardo Hernandez

Ricky Hernández is the chief financial officer of Tucson Unified School District (TUSD) in Tucson, AZ. Tucson Unified is the third largest school district in Arizona. Ricky has over 20 years of strategic financial leadership experience working in K-12 and in higher education. Prior to joining TUSD, he was chief operating officer of the University of Arizona Alumni Association and assistant vice president of financial operations at the University of Arizona Foundation. He was instrumental in the successful merger of both organizations in 2020. He served for nearly a decade as deputy county school superintendent and CFO for the Pima County School Superintendent, stewarding over $1 billion in assets across 15 school districts in Pima County. Ricky actively contributes his time to community organizations in Tucson. He is a graduate of the University of Arizona and Northern Arizona University. A lifelong Arizonan, Ricky resides in southern Arizona with his family and their two dogs.
