Susan has over 22 years of experience as a Finance Director of small local governments. Prior to her municipal experience, she was a Public Accountant for 8 years and holds a CPA license in the State of Connecticut. She is a Certified Government Finance Officer (CGFO) in the State of Florida.

Susan is the Finance Director at the Town of Longboat Key, a barrier island on the Southwest Coast of Florida which is geographically split between two counties. The Town population is approximately 7,537 but grows to about 23,000 during peak tourist season. Susan is the Chief Financial Officer managing all town finances including budget development, financial audits, bond issuance and continuing disclosure and cash and investment management. She has been with the Town of Longboat Key for 10 years.

She has unique experiences in implementing Non Ad Valorem Assessments for Undergrounding Utilities, freezing of pensions, major beach nourishment projects and hurricane preparedness. Her prior employers include Wethersfield, CT (2 years)  and Thomaston, CT (11  years). She holds a Bachelors in Accounting, graduating Summa Cum Laude at Quinnipiac University, Hamden, CT.
