Brandi Harbaugh

“Brandi is very open to new ideas on how to work more efficiently or to change a process to make it better for stakeholders involved,” says Controller Sara Dennis—one of the many ways colleagues described Brandi Harbaugh at the Kenai Peninsula Borough. Over the past twenty-five years, Brandi has held various roles in the Finance department, bringing insight and a team-first approach to her work. As finance director, she is known for being accessible and supportive—whether it’s walking staff through a process or helping the mayor and assembly explore multiple scenarios. She encourages her team to think critically and improve systems, not just follow them. Brandi also contributes her time through service on the Remote Sales Tax Commission, the Borough’s pooled insurance group, and the statewide committee overseeing the merger of Alaska’s two primary municipal insurance pools.
