Brian Kennedy

Brian Kennedy, chief financial officer for Oregon Metro, is known for helping others see the bigger picture while keeping an eye on the details. Deputy CFO Caleb Ford shared, “Brian brings optimism and drive to perform in our roles as government finance professionals. I am inspired daily to find ways to deliver on our promises in the best way possible, and, more importantly, add to the collective knowledge of our profession.” In addition to his position at Metro, Brian serves on GFOA’s Committee on Economic Development and Capital Planning, as a former president of the Oregon GFOA, and as an adjunct instructor at Portland State University. He also volunteers with his local school district’s construction bond oversight committee and led Metro’s participation in the Public Finance Initiative’s racial equity cohort.
