Why did you want to become a CPFO?
It is important to me to do what I can to actively learn about best practices in my profession. The CPFO program was a natural way to create a structured method for me to learn and make connections in the world of government finance.
What did you learn going through the process?
It's easy to check boxes and go through the motions, but it is essential for government finance officers to make sure they are reflecting their community's values by putting processes in place to foster trust.
How has becoming a CPFO made an impact on you in your profession or how do you hope it will make an impact?
I just hope to continue learning and implementing strategies to better my community.
What would you say to others thinking about becoming a CPFO?
The CPFO program is a worthwhile endeavor for anybody that wants to learn all that they can about government finance.
