Virginia Bielucki, CPFO, is the accountant II, for the Town of Waterford, Connecticut.
 

Why did you want to become a CPFO?

I wanted to become a CPFO to strengthen my understanding in the areas that I currently handle and expand my knowledge of other areas of finance.

What did you learn going through the process?

I learned about the many resources available through the GFOA.

How has becoming a CPFO made an impact on you in your profession or how do you hope it will make an impact?

I hope to use the insight I have gained to be a better resource for my town and finance team.

What would you say to others thinking about becoming a CPFO?

I feel the program is very beneficial and worth the time for anyone working in a public finance position.  This program is relevant to everyday situations we face or have the potential to face in the future.
