Dean Smith

Dean Smith is a dedicated member of the City of Columbus Fiscal Team, currently serving as a debt management specialist/assistant auditor III since beginning his career as an intern. A GFOA member and Certified Public Finance Officer (CPFO), he is known for sharing his knowledge, consensus-building, and supporting colleagues across departments. Dean champions community-driven initiatives, having held leadership positions with the RISE Economic Development CDC and the Greater Hilltop Area Commission. He also served in the Air National Guard and continues to stay active in community volunteer efforts. Deputy Director Trisha Wentzel acknowledges, “He takes public service one step further by being so engaged in community service and neighborhood advocacy.”
