Dennis Kauffman, CPA, CPFO, assistant city manager for the City of Roseville, California, is recognized for his longtime service to the government finance profession. He has contributed to GFOA through speaking engagements, committee participation, and more than fifteen years of involvement as a reviewer for the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting Program and Annual Conference moderator. A two-term member of GFOA’s Committee on Accounting, Auditing, and Financial Reporting, Dennis now serves on the Committee on Treasury and Investment Management. He has also chaired the Government Accounting and Auditing Committee for CalCPA and currently leads the Finance Committee for the California Society of Municipal Finance Officers. His contributions to the League of California Cities’ Municipal Finance Institute include service as president and vice president. His colleague Brett Miller commented, “With Dennis’s outstanding personality, everyone comes to him for help, which he is always willing to give—as well as mentor. I cannot see anyone more deserving than Dennis Kauffman for the GFOA’s Outstanding Public Service Award.”
