GAAP Update Attendee Information

To ensure a smooth experience on the day of the event and claiming CPE post-event, please follow the below guidance.

The GAAP Update will be delivered via Zoom and accessed through GFOA’s Learning Management System (LMS) at learn.gfoa.org.

Before the Event

  1. Install or update Zoom on the computer you’ll use: Download Zoom
  2. Test your setup: Check your audio and video here.
  3. Check your internet speed: Zoom recommends at least 3 Mbps download speed. Test your speed here.

⚠️ Note: GFOA cannot troubleshoot individual systems. Please contact your IT department if you encounter issues with any of the above.

On the Day of the Event

  • Log in to learn.gfoa.org using your GFOA credentials.
  • Zoom links will not be emailed.

To earn CPE credit, you must meet both attendance and participation requirements:

  1. Attendance: To be eligible for CPE, stay logged into the live webinar for at least 50 minutes per hour (200 minutes total). Access must be through learn.gfoa.org.
  2. Participation: Answer at least 3 poll questions per hour (12 total).

⚠️ No partial credit is available.

Common Zoom Issues

  • No audio? Check your output device and volume settings. View Zoom Audio help here.
  • No video? View Zoom video help here.
  • Lagging video? Use a wired internet connection or move closer to your Wi-Fi router.

Need Help?

Claiming CPE

After the event:

  • Your LMS status will remain “Not Attended” until attendance and participation are verified.
  • You will receive an email from the LMS letting you know if you have successfully completed the requirements to obtain CPE credit. If you meet the requirements, complete the course evaluation in the LMS. which will unlock your CPE certificate. You should expect an email from the LMS 2–3 business days after the training. 
  • Once completed, your CPE certificate will be available in the LMS.

⏳ You have 90 days after the event to complete all CPE requirements and access the training.
