Q & A with Heather

Where and what are you currently studying, and why did you choose this?

Accounting – I chose accounting because I enjoy it, which may sound weird, but I do.  I always enjoyed math in school and it seemed to come naturally for me.

What government are you working in or hope to work at in the future?

I currently work for the Solid Waste Authority of Palm Beach County as an Accountant I.

What are your future career goals?

My future goals are to graduate with my bachelor’s degree and go on to pursue my master’s degree as well.

How will GFOA’s scholarship help you achieve those goals?

I hope to be able to take more than one class with the monies received from this scholarship.
