GFOA currently offers five types of scholarships. Students interested in future scholarship opportunities should keep in mind the following:
Eligibility for scholarship awards:
- Citizen or permanent resident of the United States or Canada
- Plan to pursue a career in state/provincial or local government finance
- Student has not been a past winner of a GFOA scholarship.

The deadline for 2021 academic scholarship applications has passed. Look for information on applying for 2022 academic scholarships in the fall.
Elizabeth Whitt has worked with Northwest Local School District as an accounting supervisor since 2014. She is pursuing a BBA degree at Liberty University. She plans to graduate by December 2021.
For the 2021 academic year, GFOA offered 11 scholarships ranging from $5,000 to $20,000.
GFOA has announced the recipients of its 2021 scholarships. These scholarships total $105,000.
