Finance Director
The City of Los Banos, California is seeking a new Director to lead its epartment of Finance. With a departmental history of finance excellence, the new Finance Director will continue a tradition of high performance in five key functional areas: accounting, revenue and expenditure management, financial reporting, budgeting, and oversight of Information Technology. A top-level management position, the Director will work closely with the City Manager to ensure the financial stability of the City. Los Banos is a full-service city dedicated to partnering with the community to provide excellent services and amenities. With a Council-Manager form of government, it has an elected Mayor, four City Council Members, City Clerk, and City Treasurer. The City Manager oversees an organization with approximately 180 employees across several departments including Fire, Police, Public Works (including the Los Banos General Aviation Airport), Community & Economic Development, Building, Human Resources, City Clerk, Finance, and City Treasurer. The General Fund Operating Budget is $21.4M for FY 2021-2022, with a total budget of $75.9M.
Requires a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in accounting, business administration, or related field; and, five years of increasingly responsible professional experience in financial accounting/management, including three years supervisory experience providing technical and functional supervision over assigned personnel.
The current salary range is up to $174,504 annually DOQE, plus a comprehensive benefits package including CalPERS retirement.
