This is a department head position responsible for administering the operation of the City Finance Department. The Finance Director is responsible for all finance functions including:
- Directing and aligning the various programs, activities, and staff of the Finance Department, both directly and through supervisors across the organization.
- Providing strategic support on Finance best practices to City leadership and staff.
- Developing and implementing strategies in alignment with the Finance Department and City of Appleton Mission Statements and Core Values.
The incumbent works under the general direction of the Mayor and appropriate committees.
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration or related field, eight to nine years municipal or public finance experience, CPA.
