Job Description

The City of Council Bluffs is currently hiring for the position of Accountant II!

Mission: Our mission is to continuously improve the quality of life and attractiveness of the City of Council Bluffs.

Pay: $63,549.32 annually with step increases to $81,106.53 annually

Responsibilities:

  • Performs financial accounting, reporting, and analysis responsibilities. Works closely with management to ensure they have the necessary reporting to make sound financial decisions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in Accounting or Finance
  • Four years of experience in a finance role
  • Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system experience, preferred
  • Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work.
  • Additional position consideration given to those applicants who have passed the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and/or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) exam
