The Accounting Specialist II position is a technical and professional position responsible for performing a variety of general and complex accounting work. The position is primarily responsible for a complex payroll; including 5 different bargaining units and contract positions made up of full-time, part-time, variable, seasonal employees, and retirees. Additional areas of responsibility may include contract interpretation, benefit administration, general ledger, and financial and cash reporting.
This position is more than processing. Work involves the use of reasoned judgment, specialized knowledge of generally accepted accounting procedure, and collaboration. If you are selected, you will speak with everyone from the new employees to retirees, so being able to share knowledge and expertise that is easily understandable is a must.
Candidates with lesser qualifications and experience are strongly encouraged to apply and may be hired into the Accounting Specialist I.
