The Andover Public Schools seeks a highly skilled and dynamic Assistant Superintendent to provide system-wide leadership and management to a large suburban school district which includes 10 schools, and over 1000 employees and 6000 students. Responsibilities include the establishment of state of the art business practices in all non-instructional divisions of the organization including budget development (approximately $83 million), financial forecasting and planning, accounting, building maintenance and custodial oversight, transportation and food services. This position directly oversees a staff of four senior staff members and indirectly oversees the business office, custodial, nutrition, copy center and Collins Center service employees.
Successful candidates will have MA licensure as a School Business Administrator and hold or be eligible for DESE licensure as an Assistant Superintendent. Certification as a Massachusetts Certified Public Purchasing Official preferred or have the qualifications to pursue this certification within a reasonable time period. Additionally, a Master’s degree in business administration, accounting, school administration or other related academic discipline is required; significant and exceptionally successful work experience as an SBA, demonstrated ability to manage in a union environment; and excellent written and oral communication skills. Salary: $150k-$175k with excellent benefits.
