Join our team as a Budget Analyst II, where you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping financial strategies and supporting our organization's growth and success. As a budget analyst, you’re naturally curious about what’s happening around you and willing to dig into reports, ask questions, and seek out answers. You will be a key resource to support the greater finance team and county leadership. Serving in this dynamic role, you will work collaboratively with team members and upper management to provide critical financial and budgetary support, with a focus on:

• Governmental Expertise: Utilize your strong understanding of governmental budgeting methods and reporting to ensure compliance and efficiency.
• Technical Proficiency: Demonstrate technical expertise in reconciling financial reports and ensuring accuracy in financial data analysis.
• Strategic Collaboration: Work closely with department heads to develop and analyze upcoming financial needs, contributing directly to our organizational planning and success.
• Financial System Management: Collaborate with core financial departments to manage financial systems, ensuring seamless operations and data integrity.
• Portfolio Management: Take charge of a diverse portfolio of department budgets, providing insightful analysis and strategic recommendations across various business areas.
• Community Engagement: Engage in interesting and community-relevant projects involving economic and demographic data, contributing to our impact and outreach. You'll have the opportunity to work on unique and challenging projects that make a tangible difference in the community.

Here’s What You Need:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, Economics, or a related field; three years of responsible experience in a complex budgeting and/or fiscal management of a large department/organization; or equivalent combination of training and experience or education.

The successful candidate will share a passion for local government; possess strong analytical, accounting, and critical thinking skills with attention to detail and organization; knowledge of budget management; excel at independent problem solving; possess strong interpersonal skills; and work well with a dynamic team and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
