Budget Analyst-Staff
The Budget Analyst Staff is responsible for the data management activities in preparation of complex budgetary and financial analysis products to maintain statutory and policy compliance in the Budget Bureau.
Duties include preparation and monitoring of budgetary and financial data from various sources including, but not limited to, the District’s SAP financial system and ORACLE databases. Budget development and trend analysis requires management of large datasets in preparation of financial statements, vacancy analyses, and payroll projections.
The ideal candidate has the proven ability to independently develop and maintain interactive datasets utilizing spreadsheets and databases with verifiable advanced functionality. S/he monitors actual fiscal accomplishments to budget projections and reviews operational areas to insure cost effective, efficient operations and methods, and formulates recommendations for changes and/or improvements.
The successful candidate is well organized and able to successfully multi-task, work calmly under pressure in a fast paced environment to meet multiple demanding deadlines with attention to detail. Other projects are assigned as directed by the section leader or section administrator.
A proficiency test for evaluation will be given during the interview process.
Employment Guidelines
This position may be filled as Budget Analyst.
Budget Analyst - Staff: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business, Public Administration or related field and 2 years’ (less than 1 year for Budget Analyst) experience working with budgets or within the financial field that can be applied to support the Budget Bureau’s Annual Work Plan. Requires strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
Licensure
Valid State of Florida Driver’s License
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
Due to the District’s role and in the scope of emergency management, this position may at times, be required to provided support before, during and after major storm events and emergency situations, such as hurricanes, or other assigned emergency response role.
