Job Description

Provides budgeting, strategic planning, forecasting, performance measures, and financial analyses. Performs complex budget analyses assisting management in the decision-making process and the facilitation of the City’s strategic planning process. Assists with implementing new policies and procedures. This position monitors the implementation of the City’s budget to ensure compliance and develop financial and operational metrics to measure progress. Works closely with the executive leadership team to develop the strategic plan, budget management performance measurements, and training programs. Employee must exercise considerable initiative and sound judgment in the planning, scheduling, and carrying out of assignments. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Budget Manager, and performance is reviewed from an overall standpoint through reports submitted, conferences, and results obtained. The position may require work after hours during specified periods of the year. Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, economics, business or public administration, or related field. Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience in budgeting, forecasting, or statistical analysis and strategic planning or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Knowledge and experience with budget transparency and accountability software systems and strategic planning methodology and processes. Knowledge of governmental operations preferred.
