Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires eight (8) years of progressively responsible leadership in finance, accounting, and budgeting functions in municipal government, including at least three (3) years in a senior management role or an equivalent combination of education, training an
  • Experience with GASB and GAAP standards and GFOA

Summary

We are excited to hire a CFO Finance Director to join our team at York County Government! The core responsibilities in this position are to lead the County’s complex financial operations, enhance transparency, and ensure long-term fiscal stability. This position is responsible for guiding the strategic direction of the Finance Department and fostering high-performing, customer-oriented operations.

The CFO Finance Director plays a critical role in developing and advising the County Manager and elected officials on financial strategies, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. As a key member of the County’s leadership team reporting to the County Manager, you will serve as a trusted advisor to the County Manager, County Council, Budget Committee, boards and commissions, and staff on the County’s short- and long-term financial needs.
