Citrus Heights Water District (CHWD) is seeking a qualified candidate responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and supervising District financial activities with an emphasis on accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, and general accounting functions and customer service activities. The position performs professional and complex accounting work in the analysis and reconciliation of a variety of financial transactions and manages a variety of technical tasks related to the accounting functions of the organization. This position reports to the Director of Administrative Services.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience completing complex financial and accounting level tasks for a government entity. The candidate will have experience leading financial activities with a strong understanding of governmental related accounting principles, regulations, and processes. The successful candidate will be organized, exhibit great initiative, and constantly pursue emerging best practices. Effective communication skills and the ability to relay technical financial related information to non-technical audiences are a must. The selected candidate will be able to establish and maintain effective and efficient working relationships with both internal and external parties.

Citrus Heights Water District was founded in 1920, operating under the State of California Water Code. CHWD provides drinking water to an estimated service area population of 70,000 customers through more than 20,000 water service connections. CHWD has 38 full-time dedicated employees to operate and maintain its water system. The 2023 CHWD annual operating budget is approximately $16 million, and its 2023 Capital Improvement Budget is $8.23 million
