Job Description

In the heart of the Silicon Valley, Redwood City (pop. 86,754) is the third largest city in San Mateo County. The City is supported by an FY 2023-24 General Fund budget of $171 million and 590.19 FTE. With a dedicated team of 19, the Finance Department provides all of the City’s financial services including accounting, budget preparation, procurement, treasury and debt management, payroll, grants coordination, risk management, and revenue collection.

Redwood City seeks a strong and inspiring leader in local government finance with a passion for teamwork. This can-do and self-motivated finance professional will be well-versed in most aspects of local government finance. They will be an exceptional problem solver known for approaching complex challenges with creativity and optimism. As an engaged colleague, they will work well with other departments and be an empowering and collaborative manager who trusts and respects their team. Successful candidates will possess a Bachelor’s degree and administrative experience in municipal finance and accounting, including supervisory/management experience.
