Deputy City Treasurer

Under the general guidance and leadership of the City Clerk-Treasurer, the Deputy Treasurer is responsible for leading and directing the Accounting Division of the City. The Deputy Treasurer functions as a professional manager, ensuring timely and accurate compliance with a multitude of accounting and reporting functions with minimal supervision. The position regularly reviews and recommends changes or establishment of financial, administrative and departmental policies.  The Deputy Treasurer guides the Accounting Division toward achieving its desired objectives through conferences, continued learning, and review of reports. A strong financial analytics and reporting background, as well as the ability to use independent judgment on technical accounting issues and problem-solving, are required for success. The Deputy Treasurer maintains effective and cooperative working relationships with auditors, financial institutions, government agencies, fellow team members and the general public.
