Job Description

Purpose of Position:

The Deputy Director of Administration leads the activities of organizational operations for the agency including: Facilities and Safety, Finance, Procurement, Human Resources, and Information Technology.

Role provides strategic leadership and coordinates agency business support functions to maximize resources supporting the agency’s mission. This role aligns business needs to ensures staffing capacity, structures and performance in compliance with of all state and federal policies and procedures related to the administration and execution of VDHCD mission. As a member of the agency’s executive team, serve as an executive leader on the executive leadership team. This role is responsible for assuring effective structures, processes and procedures of agency operations, and creating capacity to maintain, develop and meeting goals,

Leads the development and maintenance of operations policies, procedures and creating training opportunities as necessary to ensure adequate response to business needs, as well as ensure compliance with directives with central agencies, including DHRM, VITA, DOLI, APA, DGS, and others.

All VDHCD managers and leaders are expected to lead diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) efforts, in alignment with the state’s One Virginia Plan and the agency DEI Strategic Plan. This role leads and enables DEI in within perspective operational units, and those efforts impacting the agency’s external stakeholders .
