Minimum Qualifications
- An accredited bachelor’s degree in business, finance, management, accounting, or related field, and eight (8) years of progressively responsible professional experience in public or business administration and three (3) years of supervisory experience at
- OR an accredited master’s degree in public or business administration, finance, accounting, or related field, and six (6) years of progressively responsible professional experience in public or business administration and three (3) years of supervisory ex
- OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferences
- Preference given to those who are a GFOA Certified Public Finance Officer (CPFO) or a ICMA Credentialed Manager (CM).
Summary
• Preparation, administration, and presentation of the City’s $2.5 billion operating and capital budget
• Advise and direct the Commissioner of Revenue and the Budget Officer on planning, operations, and performance management
• Represent the department in a variety of internal, governmental, and public-facing roles including civic and professional organizations and interactions with the Mayor and City Council
• Develop internal and external communications and directives
• Carry out the long-term vision of the City and department in accordance with the Citywide Business Plan and Finance Department Strategic Plan, respectively
• Collaborate with key stakeholders to meet shared goals and objectives
• Champion and oversee the implementation of the City’s Priority-Based Budgeting initiative to allocate funding based on the needs of the community
