Finance Director

The Finance Director holds primary responsibility for planning, implementing, controlling, and overseeing all financial activities for the Leon County Clerk of the Court and Comptroller (Clerk). This includes strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, and negotiations. The position also directs the accounting, finance, and payroll functions for the Leon County Board of County Commissioners (BoCC), as well as the Clerk’s fiduciary accounting and budgeting functions. Additional oversight includes the minutes of the BoCC and Value Adjustment Boards, and the Tax Deeds department. Work is performed under the administrative direction of the Clerk, with considerable independence of action and judgment.

This position operates primarily in an office setting Monday through Friday, with occasional evenings and weekends required for emergencies. It is classified as exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act and reports directly to the Clerk of Court and Comptroller.
