Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, public finance, business administration or a closely related field from a four-year college or university and must have eight (8) years’ experience in local government accounting, public finance or business administration
- Must possess knowledge of State of Florida Uniform Accounting System and any other areas concerning governmental accounting, along with a working knowledg
- Must have knowledge of local governmental utility services.
Preferences
- Certified Public Accountant (C.P.A) is preferred or a Certified Government Finance Officer (CFGO).
Summary
The Finance Department is responsible for the financial health and sustainability of the City. The Finance Department’s key functions include payroll processing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, budget oversight, financial reporting, and coordination of the external financial audit.
It is also of the utmost importance that the successful candidate understands that this is a hands-on position that would be required to communicate the fiscal condition and challenges facing the City with the City Council, department heads, staff and the community in a clear, concise, transparent, comprehensive, understandable and professional manner.
Salary
$71,000 - $109,000.
