Job Description

JOB OVERVIEW:

The Financial Analyst will support the finance team in managing financial operations by analyzing financial event and department data, preparing reports, assisting in budget preparation and forecasting future financial performance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collect statistical data from multiple sources and ensure data for both current and future events is accurate, consistent, and justifiable.
  • Identify and verify the reliability of data, making corrections where needed.
  • Assist in preparing a 3-year budget, including tabulating key metrics to be used in the Financial Plan.
  • Provides supporting documentation necessary for state mandated budget revenue audit.
  • Manage and frequently update in-month event forecasts to notify senior management of monthly trends compared to budget.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining event database with P&L information from MPEA partners (Hyatt, Marriott, Standard Parking, F&B private manager).
  • Create and provide event flash reports in a timely manner to determine profitability, helping drive strategic decisions.
  • Maintain MPEA Campus monthly forecasts. As such, be prepared to produce upon request and assist in importing into accounting system (Oracle JD Edwards).
  • Generate financial reports for senior management, displaying monthly departmental
    transactions as compared to budget and forecast.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining pricing calculation table(s) to help provide pricing
    recommendations during budget and year-end.
  • Develop booking pace reports using the event management system (Momentus).
  • Update and maintain workbooks comparing prior budget seasons vs new 3-year budget.
  • Track utilities data (electricity, natural gas, water, steam and chilled water) for analytical,
    presentation, and forecasting/budget purposes.
  • Collaborate with Sr. Staff on their reporting needs, including helping to create reports in, but not limited to, Momentus and JD Edwards.
  • Assist in producing occupancy reports for Sales and Finance.
  • Update labor tracking software (currently ABIMM) with internal and billable cost rates.
  • Maintain trade wage and payroll cost workbooks. Reformat workbooks for budgetary purposes.
  • Assist in preparing monthly journal entries, including gathering detailed backup.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, or finance-related roles.
  • Experience and comfort with multiple business software tools (e.g., Oracle JDE E1, Momentus, ABIMM).
  • Moderate to advanced Microsoft Office knowledge, particularly in Excel (financial modeling, pivot tables, advanced functions).
  • Strong analytical and strategic skills, with the ability to collect, organize, and analyze large amounts of information.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously while ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills to present financial data to non-financial stakeholders and senior management.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and instruction.

NOTE: Selection will be based on an evaluation of applicants’ training, skills and experience.

Pay - $80,000-$90,000

Job Type - Full-time

Shift Schedule - Monday – Friday
