Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Financial Controller to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for all financial duties of Chesterfield County Rural Water Co. This position requires a solid understanding of accounting standards, human resource principles, and strong leadership skills. Typical Duties include:

  • Plans, organizes, trains, and supervises office staff and activities
  • Prepare and analyze budget, financial statements, month-end close, monthly reconciliations
  • Establishes and enforces internal controls and financial policies and procedures
  • Oversees accounts payable, payroll, billing, collections, purchasing
  • Maintain records
  • Recommends upgrades and new technologies
  • Process payroll taxes, retirement reports, health insurance
  • Monitors all financial functions including rates, cash flows, investments

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Management, Finance or related field
  • Valid Drivers License
  • Experience in utility industry or non-profit is preferred
  • Experience with State of South Carolina benefits preferred
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
  • Experience with QuickBooks and Excel is preferred
