Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Financial Controller to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for all financial duties of Chesterfield County Rural Water Co. This position requires a solid understanding of accounting standards, human resource principles, and strong leadership skills. Typical Duties include:
- Plans, organizes, trains, and supervises office staff and activities
- Prepare and analyze budget, financial statements, month-end close, monthly reconciliations
- Establishes and enforces internal controls and financial policies and procedures
- Oversees accounts payable, payroll, billing, collections, purchasing
- Maintain records
- Recommends upgrades and new technologies
- Process payroll taxes, retirement reports, health insurance
- Monitors all financial functions including rates, cash flows, investments
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Management, Finance or related field
- Valid Drivers License
- Experience in utility industry or non-profit is preferred
- Experience with State of South Carolina benefits preferred
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
- Experience with QuickBooks and Excel is preferred
